We personally visited this hotel to experience the property, meet the team and look at the hotel through the eyes of an expecting woman or couple. From the rooms and beds to the food, surroundings and little details that can make a pregnancy stay more comfortable, we’ve looked at what really matters when you’re planning a babymoon.
This is not simply a hotel you'll find online — it’s a place we’ve personally visited, we’ve asked the questions. But what actually makes a hotel babymoon-worthy? We look at the little details that can make a big difference during pregnancy. Take a look at what we look for when visiting and selecting hotels.

In the heart of Mallorca, just outside Algaida, you’ll find 5 star Grand Hotel Treurer, tucked away among olive trees and countryside. It’s the kind of place where you feel the pace slow down almost as soon as you arrive.
When I stepped out of the car, the first thing I noticed was the quiet. No busy road, no crowds, no big resort atmosphere — just olive trees, open views and that wonderful feeling of having arrived somewhere a little bit special.
At the warm and welcoming reception, I was greeted by co-owner Sonia, who welcomed me with a big smile and immediately made me feel at home. She showed me around the property, the rooms and the swimming pool, and as we walked around I kept noticing little details that made Treurer feel so connected to its surroundings.
During the tour, I could smell different herbs growing around the property, adding to that wonderful Mediterranean feeling. The rooms themselves are beautifully and warmly decorated, and I loved that each one seems to have its own perspective of the landscape — every window, balcony or terrace giving you a slightly different view.
Sonia showed me one of her favourite terraces attached to one of the rooms. She pointed out towards the landscape and told me: “From here, you can see both the sunrise and the sunset.” I could immediately see why it was her favourite.

I had lunch on the beautiful terrace overlooking the valley. I asked if they could make me a fresh mint tea, even though it wasn’t on the menu. With a big smile, Laura simply headed into the garden to cut some fresh mint for me. A few moments later, she came back with a little bunch of freshly picked mint, ready to go straight into my tea. You really can’t get much fresher than that. ;)
My vegetarian lunch was delicious: simple, fresh Mediterranean flavours, beautifully prepared without being overly complicated. And of course, a generous drizzle of Treurer’s own olive oil was never far away.
Treurer is not the place I would choose if you want to walk straight from your hotel onto a busy beach or have a huge selection of restaurants and entertainment on your doorstep.
You choose Treurer for something else: peace, privacy, nature, good food and a slower pace. And for a babymoon, I think that can be exactly what you need.
You can quite happily spend an entire day here without feeling like you need to go anywhere. There are beautiful little places to sit around the property, some more private and others shared with other guests. Almost everywhere you look, there is a view of the countryside and olive groves.
There’s also a lovely swimming pool with comfortable sun loungers, so you can easily spend a morning or afternoon doing absolutely nothing — which, let’s be honest, can be a pretty wonderful activity when you’re pregnant.
If you do feel like moving, there are two easy walking routes from Treurer that allow you to explore some of the surrounding countryside without having to plan a big hike. They’re a lovely option if you want some gentle movement and fresh air during your stay.
And if you do want to explore further, Treurer’s central location makes it easy to head in different directions around Mallorca. The Puig de Randa and Santuari de Cura are also nearby, giving you one of Mallorca’s most beautiful inland landscapes right on your doorstep.

This is where I think Treurer really deserves a little more attention.
Because when you’re pregnant, it’s often not the big luxury features that make the biggest difference. It’s the little things that make your stay easier.
Sleep can be a whole different story during pregnancy, so I was particularly interested in Treurer’s pillow menu.
You can choose from different pillow sizes and materials, depending on what feels comfortable for you. And pregnancy pillows are available on request.
If your bed doesn’t feel quite right, you can also ask about an additional mattress topper. The mattresses are on the softer side, so if you prefer a firmer sleeping surface, this is something I would discuss with the hotel before or during your stay.
If you’re considering Treurer and want to know more about the rooms, beds or pregnancy pillow options, just send me a message. I’m happy to help you work out which room would suit you best.
There’s a generous breakfast buffet with fresh fruit, yoghurt, pastries, coffee and more. But if the thought of getting dressed and walking to breakfast doesn’t appeal to you one morning, you can have breakfast served in your room. Just arrange it with the hotel at least 24 hours in advance.
In the evening, Treurer offers turndown service if you would like it: your room is prepared for the night while you’re out enjoying dinner or just relaxing :)
Depending on availability, a late checkout can sometimes be arranged, up to 2pm or even 9pm. This can be particularly useful if you have a later flight and would rather spend your final day of your babymoon relaxing by the pool than packing up and leaving first thing in the morning.
And then there’s the honesty bar. It’s available around the clock with drinks and small snacks. You simply write down your name, room number and what you’ve taken. So if a pregnancy craving suddenly appears at a completely unreasonable hour, you don’t necessarily have to leave the property in search of a snack. ;)

The restaurant has a lovely menu with plenty of Mediterranean-inspired dishes and several vegetarian options. And, naturally, Treurer’s own olive oil features heavily. I loved being able to eat outside while looking over the valley. It feels much more like enjoying a meal at a beautiful Mallorcan finca than eating in a conventional hotel restaurant. If you would like to eat somewhere else, the team can also help you reserve a table at one of the good restaurants nearby.
Treurer is surrounded by its own olive trees, and you can walk through the olive grove during your stay. Even the bathroom products have a connection to the property: Treurer offers cosmetics and bath products made with their own olive oil and plants from the surrounding area.
And if you’re a book lover, look out for the book collection in many languages. Laura told me their philosophy is essentially: take a book and leave one behind :)
Treurer isn’t only a summer destination. So if your babymoon happens to fall outside the warmest summer months, don’t let that put you off. Treurer is designed to be enjoyed year-round. It has underfloor heating, making it a comfortable place to stay outside the hottest months too. And depending on your room, you may even be able to enjoy both sunrise and sunset from your balcony. That makes Treurer an interesting option for an autumn, winter or spring babymoon, when you might actually appreciate the peaceful countryside even more.
Treurer is in the countryside outside Algaida, so I would recommend having a rental car if you want to explore Mallorca during your stay. There is plenty of parking at the property, and electric cars can be charged there. If you don’t have a car, the hotel can also arrange airport transfers depending on your needs. The advantage of the location is that you’re roughly in the middle of the island, so you can easily make trips in different directions rather than being tied to one particular resort area.
Treurer is beautiful, but I don’t think it’s the right choice for every babymoon.
There is no beach directly outside the hotel, so if your dream babymoon involves walking to the sea every morning, I’d look at one of our other Mallorca recommendations instead.
The countryside location also means that a car is useful if you want to see a lot of the island. And if you’re looking for a large luxury resort with a big spa, several restaurants and lots of organised activities, Treurer has a much more intimate and personal feel. For me, that’s part of its charm. But it’s worth knowing what you’re booking. Treurer is about slowing down rather than filling your days.
